Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score

“At the end of the day, your quality of life is determined by the people you surround yourself with.”

So look, from reading reviews of various Lucy Score books I know she isn’t for everyone but I’m honestly a big fan.

One of my all time favourite things in a romance is found family, and so far almost every Lucy Score I’ve read has a found family component. And on more than one occasion that found family is elderly found family, and that leads to a lot of humour and a lot of heart.

To be honest, I was probably more invested in all the secondary characters than I was Maggie and Silas relationship, they were very cute but there was so much goodness from everyone else that their whole dynamic didn’t seem as exciting. Silas was a bit too intense at the beginning of the romance between himself and Maggie, dude needed to show some chill, and then he got all upset when Maggie (who isn’t shy about communicating that she isn’t a great at feelings) that she did share parts of her past with him. He was a little bit of a baby.

This was fun read though, and I loved the premise and setting. It felt cosy, and just all round feel good.

A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar. After all, Maggie remembers what fun is like. Vaguely. 

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls she’s spent years building, sending Maggie into a panic. He’s the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, she has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?
