Quick April 2026 – Wrap-up

April was a bit of a disaster for reading books. I only had one new read and the other nine were all rereads! That’s because I’m still in the grip of fanfiction and in April I read 76 fics, 761,967 words, which is about 2,177 pages. That’s a total of 5,942 pages in April which isn’t actually that far off my normal average. So I’m still reading the same amount, it’s just that about half of what I’m reading is two idiots falling in love in every universe! πŸ˜€ I do feel like I’m reaching the end of the mania though, I suspect it will be a while before I forsake the fanfiction altogether (read April 2027), but I feel a lot less feral about Heated Rivalry as a whole. Thank goodness! It did take me putting a block on my phone for social media between the hours of 7pm at night, and 1pm the next day every day. But a win is a win!

So book wise and challenge wise, April was pretty low effort. My plan is to try and make up the numbers in May and June, so I’ll try and read as much challenge books as possible. This means a lot of blog posts, which is a bit of pressure but I’m feeling somewhat confident. To be honest, 2026 is kind of kicking my ass when it comes to blogging. If I hadn’t got all the challenge posts templated, I’m pretty sure I’d have given up by now. As it is I’ve not taken part in any of the Romanceopoly β€” 2026 Reading Challenge community events. I’d like to remedy that but at the moment all I’m doing is playing catch-up.

The lack of books did make this a very speedy post though, another win! πŸ˜€
