For the day that’s in it…

I had originally thought I’d do a selection of my most favourite romances but when I started to look at them I realised I’d be here all day so for Valentine’s Day 2022 I’m highlighting some of my favourite romances of 2021. A fair few series/trilogies so I’ve listed book one. Also, I reread the majority of these a lot so they really are up there with my most favourites.

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh

Adult, Urban Fantasy, Shapeshifters. Story arc contains fifteen books. New couple in each book except book fifteen which is an ensemble cast.

Grip (Grip #1) by Kennedy Ryan

Adult, Contemporary, Second Chance. There is actually a prequel, Flow (Grip #0.5), that I recommend reading before you read this as it makes the whole second chance trope more delicious. These books will destroy you but it’s worth it.

The Kiss Quotient (The Kiss Quotient #1) by Helen Hoang

New Adult, Contemporary, Fake Dating, Neurodivergent Rep. Trilogy with each book focusing on a new couple. Each book has a neurodivergent character.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters #1) by Talia Hibbert

New Adult, Contemporary, Cinnamon Roll Alpha, Grumpy Heroine, Disability Rep. Trilogy with each book focusing on a different Brown sister. Love them all.

Provoked (Enlightenment #1) by Joanna Chambers

Adult, Historical, LGBTQ+/MM. Trilogy that focuses on one couple. Book one and two kind of end on cliffhangers so I recommend binging.

For You (The ‘Burg #1) by Kristen Ashley

Adult, Contemporary, Second Chance, Small Town Mystery. One of my favourite KA series and one of my favourite and ultimate second chance romances. This is book one in a six book series. Each book focuses on a different couple in the same small town.

Silver Silence (Psy-Changeling Trinity #1) by Nalini Singh

Adult, Urban Fantasy, Shapeshifters. Second arc in the Psy-Changeling series. Five books in this series so far with each book focusing on a new couple. I adore the first arc but this series is next level for me.

Complicated by Kristen Ashley

Adult, Contemporary, Alphahole, Small Town, Suspense. A rare standalone for KA. Follows the typical KA formula where the hero is an asshole more than once and ends up redeeming himself. This is one of my favourite tropes which is funny because if a man treated me like this in real life I’d kick him to the curb so fast his head would spin. 😀

Angels’ Blood (Guild Hunter #1) by Nalini Singh

Adult, Urban Fantasy, Vampires, Angels’. Twelve books so far in this series, about half the books focus on one couple with the others focusing on different couples. These books are super violent with lots of blood and gore. I mean there are vampires involved so…

Queen Move (All the King’s Men #3) by Kennedy Ryan

New Adult, Contemporary, Second Chance. This is listed as book three in All the King’s Men series and I don’t really think that’s correct. For me this is a standalone so I’m treating it as one. This is Queen Move #1 and you should read Queen Move #1.5 after!

The Gamble (Colorado Mountain #1) by Kristen Ashley

Adult, Contemporary, Small Town, Suspense. Beginning of a seven book series but actually, this is a bit like a standalone. I still always read this first but I often feel like I rush reading it to get to my favourites which are Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain #2) and Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain #3). I think this year I’ll read this as a standalone.

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

New Adult, Contemporary, Fake Dating, STEM, Academia. Standalone which definitely got a lot of hype last year and I personally think the hype was correct. Looking forward to more from this author.
