Overview: Oh look at me at 8 weeks!
This was a great week and I really enjoyed all the days. I can now do pushups, burpees and (kind of) side planks so I can see progress being made and it’s encouraging and makes the journey worth it.
In my mind I had thought that I’d only do these blog posts for 8 weeks but I’ve decided to keep it up for another 8 weeks. The reason for that is these posts are absolutely working with keeping me accountable. I know I don’t have to do things everyday and I think it’s important for me to try and rest a bit more on some days, but at the moment, my body and mind are in this and having a record of the journey is part of why that’s the case, so I don’t want to mess with the process!
Monday (February 22nd) – Started the week strong with 8fit Full Body Box and promised myself I’d not punch too hard. I got too into it again and punched too hard and hurt my shoulder again. 😀
I’m excited that I did this as I had a day off work so I’m proud that I woke up in the mood to do it and followed through.
Totally lazed about for the rest of the day. A great day off where my workout only added to the day.
Tuesday (February 23rd) – I was back to the resistance bands today but not for arms. This workout was for glutes and I really enjoyed it. My butt is strong! 😀
The Tuesday workouts are always rather speedy and this was only about 10 minutes and with cooldown and stuff I’m done and dusted in about 20 minutes but this felt like I got a great workout.
Went for a 2.5 km walk and got soaked to the bone. I’ve started re-listening to My Favorite Murder though so at least I was entertained.
Wednesday (February 24th) – Feeling the need to get back into the morning walks so up and out at 7.15am and a 8 km walk before my workday starts.
Had a 1pm work deadline and rewarded myself with a 40 minute Relax Yoga. Relax Yoga was a complete lie. I found this to be a tough one but it was great and man my hips were in such good shape after.
Thursday (February 25th) – Weird work day today, I had a meeting from 5pm to 6pm so everything in my day has been delayed by an hour. Plus side? I had a lovely sleep in.
Followed by an 8 km walk and an 8fit Upper body punch out workout and about 15 minutes of stretching.
Today was the first time I played music while working out as I wanted to follow along properly and not miss anything but the instructor didn’t talk throughout this one so I gave it a go and wow, my rhythm was way better and 30 minutes absolutely flew by! I think the shoulder is okay as well so maybe I’m getting better at the punching.
Friday (February 26th) – Today I did my first 8fit EMOM class.
THIS. WAS. SO. HARD.
I absolutely loved it.
I may never walk again properly again though! 😀
Two important updates. I can now do ten assisted pushups properly in a row and I can now do burpees properly for a full minute. These are both milestones for me.
Saturday (February 27th) – Skipped the walk today because I wanted to start some work in the garden so I did a quick stretching routine and then killed it in the garden. Now, I got only a small bit done and it was a lot of work to do that small bit so this could be my Saturday’s for a while!
Between the EMOM recovery and the garden I felt a little beaten up so I slept a lot and moved very little for the rest of the day.
Sunday (February 28th) – My body is one big bruise! 😀
It’s a feel good bruise but a bruise nonetheless. Well good besides the shoulder pain that started up again. I slept in and had another Sunday of being lazy and taking it easy on myself. Also not feeling 100%. I think it could be a sinus thing so I just lay down a lot.
