Ah, my first Sterek in this series. Back in 2014/2015 I was obsessed with Sterek Fan Fiction. There is for sure going to be more of these in the future. There will be a lot of Sterek gifs! 😀
This was a really fun time for me and I actually made a lot of friends through the Sterek community on Goodreads. Unfortunately, in 2015, a large amount of Ao3 Sterek creators felt that their work shouldn’t be listed on Goodreads. Thus began the great Goodreads/Ao3 rumble!
Ah 2015! Simpler times indeed!!
DiscountentedWinter is a MM author called Lisa Henry who was also a big Sterek fan and decided to counteract all the drama by creating her own. It’s unfortunate that the first one to pop up was a 3 star read for me. Most of her Stereks got an average of 5 stars from me.
In the end the constant drama and the removal of Stereks from Goodreads took the shine off reading these and 2016 was the beginning of the end of Sterek for me. One of the reasons I personally liked them listed was that I could easily keep track of what I read and what I wanted to read in a much more straight forward fashion compared to the Ao3 platform. When they were all being removed my reading numbers were plummeting and I had no idea what I had and had not read and it was all just so messy. By July 2016 I’d stopped reading them.
They probably did me a favour though as this drama and the never ending drama in the MM community, caused me to broaden my reading again!
Oh and I remember nothing about this! 😀
