Next Read?

Today’s bloganuary prompt is What book is next on your reading list?so since my blog is primarily a book blog I obviously had to partake!

You’d think given the amount of books I have that I’d have this question figured out but alas, that is absolutely not the case! 😀

I sometimes think that the more choice I have the harder it is to pick so I often reread books I love instead. This is not good for my tbr and I’m trying to be better about not doing that this year!

So let me bring you into the chaos that is my brain trying to pick what to read next…

My non-fiction for January arrived yesterday, Survival of the Thickest by Michelle Buteau, I know this will be a fairly speedy read so I’m wondering if I should read it right away or wait. I’m getting my hair done next Saturday and I feel this would be a good salon read. I also started the new Kristen Ashley last week but was finishing up a series from a much beloved author that I couldn’t put down so I wasn’t as invested as I would normally be. I’m now thinking of rereading the first 40% and finishing up The Girl in the Mist (Misted Pines #1) by Kristen Ashley.

My Historical Fiction book club January/February pick is Once Upon a Wardrobe by Patti Callahan and they have been raving about it in the book club chat so even though I’d planned to read it in February I kind of want to pick it up now.

As per my blog yesterday, Wolf Moon – #MindforBooksPrompt Post, I have more than a few trilogies I need to catch up on and finish and they are starting to stress me out but…

I can’t stop thinking about starting The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee because everyone seems to love it and I’m feeling in a very adult fantasy mood and that’s a finished trilogy that I can binge and not wait around for.

I’ve also been saving books 3, 4, 5 and 6 of The Lady Sherlock Series by Sherry Thomas and this series really is a winter kind of series and it’s gotten really cold here so I foresee major snuggling on the couch with them.

So yeah, I can’t answer this question right now. I’ve too many options and as you can see I don’t discriminate when it comes to genres. I need to pick today though as I finished my last book last night.

I might just write them all on pieces of paper and randomly pick one! 🤷‍♀️
