Quarter Three Blog Check-in

I’m pretty sure the rule for quarterly updates is to lament about how time is flying and you can’t believe that the year is ‘almost’ over. So as not to disappoint, I can’t believe how fast the year is going and that it’s very close to being almost over!! 😀

I’m not sure I need to do the whole ‘I’m happy with how the blogging is going this year’ and ‘how great it is that I’ve been staying consistent’ because I’ve noted that in the last two updates. I’ve also mentioned in those updates about the need to branch out more (which I still haven’t done) so I won’t go into that either, and lets face it, at this late stage I can’t see that happening. I would like to do quick posts on the places I travelled this year though. That would be six posts in total by the end of the year though and I find them a little overwhelming!

So, lets look at my quarter three blogging:

Book numbers:

I read 51 books this quarter which I’m more than happy with. At this stage I’m at 170 books read so far this year. I’d love to reach 220 but I’m not going to be upset if I don’t reach that, I just like having a goal to work toward.

Romanceopoly update and what’s to come:

Still doing great with the Romanceopoly — 2025 Reading Challenge and I’m 100% going to do this challenge again.

The posts for quarter three, Sunset Bay are:

Summer (Sunset Bay): July 1 – September 30

Holi Dates (optional prompts)

The prompts for Amber Heights are:

Autumn/Fall (Amber Heights): October 1 – December 31

  • (28) Gallery of Shadows – read a book featuring a gothic setting
  • (29) The Highpoint – read a workplace romance
  • (30) Willow Grove Park – read a book featuring a sweet fall or cosy setting, sweater weather books
  • (31) Starstruck Sweets – read a book where the main character is a celebrity
  • (32) The Holiday Spectacular- read an adventure book with a holiday theme or one that brings a touch of winter magic

Holi Dates (optional prompts)

  • (33) Spooky Reads – read a Halloween or horror romance book
  • (34) Diwali Lights – read a book by an Indian author to celebrate the festival of lights
  • (35) Native American Heritage Month – read a book by an Indigenous author
  • (36) Krampus Night – As the winter nights grow longer, read a romance that features monsters — whether they’re mischievous, fearsome, or secretly tender-hearted

I have books picked for all these prompts, and I’m super excited about all of them, and ready to jump in ASAP!

Other Challenges:

As noted in my September wrap-up post, I finished the ✨TwentyOffMyShelf 2025✨challenge. I’ve decided to do a separate post for this challenge with all the books I read and maybe list a few of the books I didn’t manage to read for the challenge but would like to read before the end of the year!

A clean slate for my Kindle Summer Challenge which isn’t important but I find it very satisfying!

These Goodreads challenges have been great and I can’t believe it’s taken them so long to come up with something like this. I had a few winners from this quarter, with A Resistance of Witches by Morgan Ryan being a particular surprise, and I’m not sure I’d have picked it up without this challenge!

Also read another three books for my own Non-fiction reading 2025 challenge, all three posts listed below.

Additional posts that can be found in Ramblings and Library and I do try to keep all the pages on the blog as up to date as I can. It can be tough though, one of the reasons I decided to stop posting every day was because updating the pages is a job in itself! 🙂
