This Could Be Us (Skyland #2) by Kennedy Ryan
Soledad was a total badass and I adore her!
I liked Soledad just fine in Before I let go but I loved Hendrix so much that I was a little disappointed her book wasn’t the second book. I should have known Kennedy Ryan wouldn’t disappoint though! Soledad’s story was so inspirational, I loved her journey of finding out who she was without the dead weight of her positively useless ex husband. And I also loved how she didn’t give up her journey for a new man, even if that new man was lush AF!
Judah!! Goodness, gracious me, Judah!!
Pretty sure Judah has made his way onto my favourite MMC list!
Emotionally intelligent, a VERY present father, doesn’t expect his ex to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to caring for his children. I mean I know the bar is in hell for men when it comes to what they contribute to their families but this man was a legit top tier parent!
I loved how he didn’t force Soledad to give up her journey so he could have what he wanted, a relationship. He met her where she was at and gave what he could. When that stopped working he didn’t throw a mantrum, instead he stepped back and let her figure things out. No pushing, just respect and support. I mean come on!!!
And then we had sexy times Judah!! I just can’t!! Honestly, Soledad is a better woman than I because I would have totally given up everything for the man the first time there was intimacy! This man was FOCUSED!!
This was just a wonderful read, I loved the journey they went on, I loved their families, their friends, Skyland! Everything!! Kennedy Ryan is an honest to goodness treasure!
Bring on Hendrix! As a childfree woman I need this queen to get her HEA!!

Synopsis:
Soledad Barnes has her life all planned out. Because, of course, she does. She plans everything. She designs everything. She fixes everything. She’s a domestic goddess who’s never met a party she couldn’t host or a charge she couldn’t lead. The one with all the answers and the perfect vinaigrette for that summer salad. But none of her varied talents can save her when catastrophe strikes, and the life she built with the man who was supposed to be her forever, goes poof in a cloud of betrayal and disillusion.
But there is no time to pout or sulk, or even grieve the life she lost. She’s too busy keeping a roof over her daughters’ heads and food on the table. And in the process of saving them all, Soledad rediscovers herself. From the ashes of a life burned to the ground, something bold and new can rise.
But then an unlikely man enters the picture—the forbidden one, the one she shouldn’t want but can’t seem to resist. She’s lost it all before and refuses to repeat her mistakes. Can she trust him? Can she trust herself?
After all she’s lost . . .and found . . .can she be brave enough to make room for what could be?
