Wild Side (Rose Hill #3) by Elsie Silver
My first prompt for Romanceopoly Spring — welcome to Blossom Falls!
I can’t help but be a little disappointed with this addition to Rose Hill. I hate to say it but I kind of hated Tabitha, well hate may be too strong a word, let’s go with Tabitha being an asshole for a good majority of this book.
Now look, I get it, she is grieving and unable to accept some things about the person who she loves, and who is no longer around to explain some of the fucked up consequences she has left Tabby with, and yes, everyone grieves differently but that does not excuse someone from behaving as badly as Tabby behaved towards Rhys!
I spent a lot of time trying to remind myself how hurt Tabby is and thus try to explain away the way she treated Rhys but the longer she behaved so badly the harder and harder I found it to make excuses for her.

She does come around in the end and redeems herself somewhat, when Tabby loves, she loves fiercely, but I think she is my least favourite Elsie Silver FMC to this point and I really wasn’t a fan of Rosie so that’s saying something. I mean Tabby actually mentions that she is getting therapy and I personally think she needs a new therapist because she needs better coping mechanisms.
Rhys on the other hand was a big ole teddy bear, his only flaw being he was a total doormat, especially when it came to Tabby. He was also a pushover for a little boy who I personally think saved the book. Milo was beyond cute and Rhys putting his whole life on hold for him was so freaking adorable!
I also did enjoy the marriage of convenience trope and again, once Tabby stopped behaving like an asshole Rhys and Tabby were lovely together. And when the spice was spicing it was SPICING.

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the wrestling storyline, I know very little about wrestling but I do know that just because it’s fake doesn’t mean it’s not really freaking hard and dangerous, I really appreciated the behind the scenes look. Also, Anthony was an ASS!
Overall, this was decent but as mentioned, not my favourite, it’s just hard to root for someone who can turn downright cruel when she is overwhelmed by emotions.
I also enjoyed seeing all the gang again and I’m SUPER intrigued about Bash and his sons girlfriend!!!

Synopsis:
I’d always dreamed of my wedding day. But not like this. Not looking into the eyes of the man who betrayed me.
But when my nephew’s guardianship is contested, I decide I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him in Rose Hill. Even if it means marrying the enemy.
Rhys Dupris.
A man who is secretive, broody, and completely infuriating. A man whose work takes him away for weeks on end and brings him back covered in mysterious bruises—ones he won’t talk about. In fact, we barely talk at all.
Which would be fine, except when he’s not talking, he’s staring. And the way he looks at me is borderline indecent.
The tension between us has always been palpable. But living under the same roof is a dangerous temptation.
I swore I would never forgive him. But that was before I knew the man behind the mask. The one who’s fierce and protective. The one who’s gentle and patient. The one who shows up for us when we need him most.
He’s not at all who I thought he was.
And that makes hating my husband so much harder… and loving him just a little too easy.
