I came across a really fun reading challenge on Bookstagram a while ago and now I’m excited for it to start. Hosted by Under the Covers, a huge amount of work has been put into organising it. All details can be found at Romanceopoly 2025 Challenge.
They have multiple logos that you can use if you feel like you’d like the person in the logo loosely matching you. They also have one for headers that can be used for blogs etc (see featured image).

The showstopper though is the stunning board for the challenge itself. The premise of the game is simple. The board is divided up into four towns that match the seasons. We start in Frostwood Village in winter. You can use a dice to select a prompt or you can pick the prompts in any order you wish. There are also optional prompts available each quarter if you feel like using them. You can then track each book on the website, the prizes are different subscriptions to the dedicated Substack where all the community stuff seems to take place.

Each quarter will also have events that you can join (these look to be events where additional prompts will be announced and you have a week to complete them) and seem to be very community focused.
The prompts themselves are varied and super inclusive. I’d have been very overwhelmed trying to pick books that match but the organisers have set up a Storygraph Challenge where people can add the books they plan to read for each prompt. This is incredibly helpful and I think is the only reason I’d be able to do it. This might also be the kick in the butt I need to move from Goodreads (which hasn’t been updated in years and is owned by Amazon) to Storygraph (which is founded by a woman and seems to really listen to users).
I think my plan will be to blog about each prompt and book as I read them. I’m hoping I can keep up. There are 20 core prompts and 16 optional prompts and then whatever comes from the four events so that would be a total of 40 blog posts over the year. I mean it should be manageable but sometimes I fall behind on just posting the two a month I try to commit to so who knows? 😀
I plan to link all the blog posts to this post via the list of prompts below. I’ll add the events as they are announced.
