November 2024 in Pictures

November was a BUSY but a great month of overall though.

1. First up was a visit from my nieces and sister for a weekend. We went to the Dublin Zoo lights which was cute and educational until Noah and his Arc made an appearance! 😏

2. We went to the girls first concert on the Saturday night. It was The Script. I would say I didn’t know any of their songs but it’s surprising how many get lodged into your subconscious without realising it. It was a fun night, love spending time with them.

3. New nails 💅- I like to get my Christmas nails done early in the season so I can have them changed just before Christmas and don’t have to look Christmas nails into January! 😂

4. After a 9 hr 40 min delay and 11 hr 40 min in Dublin airport we made it to Edinburgh at 12am. Which means we missed our full day there. It was a bummer but we also woke up to an unexpected glorious day. We went up to the National Monument of Scotland first thing. It was right beside our hotel. We were in such a great spot. Missing our day there really was a bummer! Stupid snow! 😭

5. We did manage to get 25,000 steps in during our time there though and I had to take himself to The Castle. The last time I was there was at least 15 years ago but it was no less magical. I would have said that back then I 100% was actually in this room but now it’s closed off. I could totally be misremembering (wouldn’t be surprised) but this room stood out to me on that trip and again this time. I am very much anti monarchy, I find them abhorrent tbh, but the idea of Mary Queen of Scotts giving birth to King James IV in this little room has always stuck with me, made me emotional then and made me emotional this time. Giving birth at any moment in time is no joke but to do it in a closet in the 1500’s is no joke. Nevermind all the shit that came after!

6. Last part of our little hike about was to Greyfriars, one of the plans for the lost day was a ghost tour that stops here. The ghost tours in Edinburgh are unreal. It was nice seeing this place in daylight though. 😂

7. After Edinburgh came Glasgow. So little secret, Edinburgh is stunning, visually unparalleled, steeped in history and there is so much to do so its reputation is warranted but I absolutely ADORE Glasgow. The vibes, the food and the people. It’s just a great spot and if there is a gig that isn’t being played in Dublin for whatever reason, Glasgow is THE spot to see it. Keep that quiet though! 🤫

8. MARKETS! Went to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. They were exactly the same and I loved them. I’m trash for a Christmas market!!

9. The reason we went to Scotland at all, Sleep Token! I definitely knew all these songs because they are played in my house most Friday nights. I have to say, they wouldn’t be a go to for me but I enjoyed the shit out of the show!

10. Ended the month with a night out to see Wicked. I will admit to being a little concerned. Mostly I was concerned with it being 2 hrs 40 mins. I’m very anti movies that are too long when they don’t need to be. How do I know they are too long? I’m literally counting down minutes, watch the clock, looking up run times! I knew this would end at the end of Act I and I knew when that would be and when I tell you the time flew!! At one point I thought they were going to go into Act II. Fabulously done. It was perfection! 💚
