If I could go anywhere right now… Japan

I’ve not done one of these in a while so here we go.

Something I’ve been enjoying lately is listening to books I’ve already read while watching YouTube videos with no audio. Honestly can’t describe how relaxing it is. There are more than a few food channels I follow that are wonderful but a new favourite is a travel vlogger called Solo Solo Travel.

This channel is a young Japanese guy who takes overnight ferries and trains around Japan and it’s just one of the best things on the internet in my opinion! 😀 I’m currently in the middle of him and his mom Riding Japan’s $6,000 Luxury Sleeper Train | Twilight Express Mizukaze. The luxury ones are so cool but the budget ones are super informative! Also, I know the whole country is unlikely to be completely wholesome because everywhere has its issues but these videos really make it look like Japan is wholesome AF. I love the waving off of the trains and ferries the most. I also appreciate the respect shown to strangers by the blurring of their faces which seems to be the norm in vlogs coming from Japan.

So Japan has been on my mind, I dreamt about it last night. Surprise, surprise I was on a train! 😀

Plan on doing a post at some stage about some of the other well liked YouTube channels I watch while listening to audiobooks but I want to mention a specific video that actually fits this post really well because it’s in Japan and I want to go there. It’s on the Bread Story channel which is a channel that highlights Japanese bakeries. I just started following and the first one I watched was Amazing Japanese baker skills!A Day in the Life of a local Japanese Bakery. A. Thing. Of. Beauty!!
